My name is Kamil Siegień, and I created OBD2 Scout to give car owners a practical, no-nonsense resource for OBD2 diagnostics. I work in marketing and SEO by day, which means I have seen how much thin, spec-sheet-driven automotive content passes for real advice online. OBD2 Scout exists because I wanted something built differently: technically grounded information from someone who actually uses these tools.

My first car was a 2007 Toyota Auris. It got me into the habit of understanding what was going on under the hood rather than just booking a shop appointment whenever something felt off. From there I bought a 2014 Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI with all-wheel drive, rebuilt the engine, and tuned it from the factory 160 hp to 222 hp. That project taught me more about fuel trims, live data, and how ECU behavior shows up in scanner readings than anything else I have done.

I spent a year working directly for BMW and MINI, which changed how I think about diagnostic tools entirely. Seeing how manufacturer technicians approach fault diagnosis, which data they actually pay attention to, and how far a professional scan tool differs from a basic code reader gives you a different perspective on what these tools can and cannot do. My current daily driver is a 2022 BMW G20 3 Series, and I connect a scanner to it on a regular basis.

Cars have been part of my life since I was a kid watching Fast and Furious and putting hundreds of hours into Need for Speed Underground and Most Wanted. The Nissan Skyline GTR R34 is still the car I would have if I could. Outside of driving, I have been to BMW World in Munich, visited the Nurburgring, and attended Ultrace in Wroclaw. My dream garage has two cars in it: an E92 M3 with the naturally aspirated S65 V8 that revs to 8,400 RPM, and a G80 M3 Competition with the S58 twin-turbo and xDrive.
